    Job Description

    Seeking an Architect to support a fast-paced retail remodel program. This role manages 20–60 concurrent projects, leads a small production team, and stays involved from concept through CDs and CA. Must be comfortable client-facing, coordinating across disciplines, and jumping into AutoCAD when needed. Ideal for someone who moves quickly, communicates well, and thrives in high-volume environments. Opportunity to transition to full-time after approximately one year.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage 20–60 concurrent retail remodel projects from concept through construction administration.

    + Lead a small production team and mentor junior staff.

    + Develop design concepts, perform code research, and prepare contract documents.

    + Oversee QA/QC, cost estimates, and construction administration.

    + Drive client communication and maintain strong relationships.

    + Coordinate across consultants, contractors, and permitting departments.

    + Conduct site visits and final inspections as needed.

    Required Skills

    + Strong AutoCAD proficiency for design and documentation.

    + Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.

    + Expertise in construction documentation and code research.

    + Effective communication and coordination across clients and multidisciplinary teams.

    + Proven ability to lead small teams and mentor staff.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 8–10 years of architectural experience (license not required).

    + Skilled in client relationship management and project leadership.

    + Familiarity with RFIs and project coordination.

    + Experience in retail or food & beverage environments preferred.

    Disqualifiers

    + No AutoCAD experience.

    + Less than 8 years of architectural experience.

    + Inability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

    + Poor communication or inability to work collaboratively with clients and teams.

    + Unwillingness to work in a hybrid schedule (Queen Anne office).

    Work Environment

    + Office located off Mercer Street in Queen Anne, Seattle.

    + Close collaboration with offices in Boise and Montana.

    + Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible within a 40-hour workweek; availability required from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

    + Highly collaborative environment requiring clear and effective communication.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
