The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Administrative Assistant 2 (Investigative Assistant 2) to serve in the Investigative Services. Under direct supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, reports, or presentations. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Competencies Needed:
Demonstrated competencies needed to successfully perform this job include:
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• A solid working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interpret federal and state laws, rules, and regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to make decisions with limited supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Administrative Assistant I (GST050) or equivalent position.
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college or university
OR
Two (2) years of related experience working in a customer service environment with an emphasis on working with driver’s license / ID issuances.
OR
One year experience working in an emergency service environment with an emphasis on telecommunications and dispatch.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess 3 or more of the following:
+ Experience with multi-line phone system in a high-volume environment
+ Minimum of 3 years’ Experience working with a Driver’s License / ID issuance system
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint
+ 1-year experience within a law enforcement agency in an admin/technical support or enforcement role.
