Purpose:

As a General Maintenance I team member at UPMC Somerset, you'll be part of the crew that keeps our hospital running smoothly and safely every day. In this role, you'll take on routine maintenance tasks, assist with minor repairs, and help ensure our facilities are in top shape for patients, visitors, and staff. Your work makes a real impact-creating a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.

+ Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, carpentry/hardware repairs, and mechanical equipment and systems.

+ Assist with and maintain general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas.

+ Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.

+ Perform all work following infection control procedures.

+ Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.

+ Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.

+ Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.

+ Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

+ Assist in snow removal.

+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.

+ Completion of a trade school program is preferred.

+ One year of general maintenance-related work experience is preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

+ Driver's License

+ Act 34
