DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role is situated within the Bureau of Support Services, where you will engage in a range of vital tasks centered on the procurement of materials and services for both the Administration and the Highway Administration Deputates. Your responsibilities will encompass the review of requisitions and shopping carts, the identification and application of statewide contracts, and the management of p-card purchases, all while closely monitoring procurement activities and vendor performance. You will be responsible for preparing purchase orders and ensuring that all requisite approvals are secured prior to the ordering of supplies or the provision of services.
In addition to these duties, you will address emergency requests and generate PCI orders for materials obtained from Pennsylvania Correctional Industries. A significant component of your position will involve maintaining precise records of all procurement activities and ensuring adherence to the Department's records retention policies by systematically purging outdated procurement records as needed. To thrive in this role, it is crucial to possess a comprehensive understanding of the Commonwealth and Agency purchasing policies and regulations, be well-acquainted with the Procurement Handbook, and demonstrate proficiency in utilizing contracts from the Department of Government Services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services ; or
+ Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods ; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training. Post-high school education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.
