Bring your passion for Behavioral Health to Banner Health! **Banner Behavioral Health Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ** was remodeled and expanded in 2017, providing new, state-of-the art units for our patients and staff! Banner Behavioral Health Hospital is a voluntary facility for adults and adolescents. We are dedicated to providing safe, confidential, and compassionate treatment with customized treatment plans to meet each patient's needs.

As a Behavioral Health Case Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of diagnostic categories for our adult patients on our detoxification/co-occurring unit. This schedule is Monday through Friday daytime shift. Our department provides 7 days a week coverage to the hospital. Our campus houses 7 inpatient units around a central courtyard, with an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor half-court gymnasium for our patients.

As a **Banner Behavioral Health Hospital** **Counselor,** you will have the opportunity to fully utilize your therapy and addiction counseling skills with our patients This is an assignment on our units providing up to 6 psychotherapy groups daily. The hospital is a fast-paced environment that is never dull or routine. It is not likely, but may float with some assignments in adults if low census.

A licensure in at least one of the following categories: social work, professional counseling or marriage and family therapy such as a **LAC, LPC** or **LMSW** **is licensure is required and ideally experience with adolescents, family interventions and groups** . Preferred qualifications for this position are LISAC or strong background in addictions.

**Sunday thru Thurs 8am -4pm** (likely, some flexibility available)

Banner Behavioral Health has 156 licensed inpatient beds and is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Our focus is on adults and adolescents dealing with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues who voluntarily seek help. POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides clinical assessment and psychotherapy services for defined patient population. Services are provided to patients, families and/or groups and may be in both inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Position provides treatment in one or more of the following areas: substance abuse, emotional and behavioral issues, eating disorders and other mental disorders as outlined in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM).

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Provides assessment and direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups. Coordinates all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, interacting with the physician and other members of the clinical treatment team to provide quality patient care. Must be independently licensed in Arizona to bill out appropriate CPT codes for independently license clinicians.

2. Provides education and orientation for patients, families and others to assigned treatment program to aid in therapeutic process. Collaborates with the patient in the development of a written treatment plan. Includes patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning.

3. Monitors patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions. Documents clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care.

4. Actively participates as member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintains effective working relationships with physicians and peers.

5. May provide clinical updates to representatives of managed care to assure coordination and reimbursement of treatments services. May conduct cognitive testing and document results.

6. Coordinates with community-based providers to assure optimal levels of care post discharge and to maximize treatment outcomes.

7. Provides critical assessments and appropriate treatment plan; Manages and provides direct care of patients in behavioral health treatment program (may be specialty area or across disciplines). Monitors, reassesses and documents treatment programs. Interacts with patients, families, groups, all levels of clinical staff in assigned program, physicians. External contacts include managed care providers, community resources, and referral agencies.

8. May provide indirect supervision to associate level therapists to support the process of becoming independently licensed. This may include weekly supervision and appropriate documentation.

9. May be required to review and sign off on clinical documentation, such as treatment plans and assessments from non-licensed staff within 72 business hours of completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Master's degree in counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services field, or educational requirement as mandated by state board in order to maintain licensure in field of specialty.

**Behavioral Health Licensure is required** in field of specialty as mandated by state board or regulatory agency. Depending on area of focus, may require a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) as mandated by state board.

**Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 2 years experience in a behavioral health setting.** Requires ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required in treating patients in area of assigned specialty.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an **Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card** at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
