Department Description

Position Highlights
+ Lead security operations for UWMC-Montlake and UW Medicine Primary Care locations.
+ Supervise and develop security staff, including shift supervisors and officers.
+ Oversee training programs, compliance, and operational standards.
+ Collaborate with leadership on strategic security initiatives and emergency planning.
Primary Job Responsibilities
+ Manage day-to-day security operations for UWMC-Montlake and Primary Care, ensuring safe staffing levels and service excellence.
+ Direct HR functions for security personnel, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
+ Implement and maintain training programs (e.g., WELLE, Code Gray, Code Silver).
+ Oversee equipment, scheduling, and compliance with UW Medicine standards.
+ Act as adjutant for the Director in their absence and liaise with internal and external agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Public Safety Administration, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospital Administration, Business, or a related field from an accredited university
+ 4-5 years' relevant work experience to include
+ security services/Public Safety leadership role in a healthcare environment or 2 years’ experience in law enforcement;
+ Advance training or experience with technical elements including physical security systems;
+ security operations;
+ security protocols and training;
+ and team supervision;
+ demonstrated leadership in advancing best practices in a healthcare environment.

+ An equivalent of education and experience will be considered except where legally required.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$95,004.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$135,000.00 annual
