    + GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    + The Purchasing Agent/Buyer is responsible for assisting with the coordination of day-to-day activities associated with Materials Management to enhance efficient and effective care delivered to the patients of Buchanan County Health Center. The Purchasing Agent/Buyer will assist with the procurement and delivery of materials and supplies to ensure optimal customer service standards are met.

    + EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    + Position requires analytical, organizational and communication skills to maintain records and files, ability to prepare and schedule outgoing freight, and transport and receive incoming shipments generally acquired through a high school education. Experience using MediTech software is preferred.

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Must be 18 years of age or older.

    + Must possess and maintain a valid driver license.

    + Must be able to be covered by BCHC auto liability insurance.

    + Must have the ability to read, write and speak English and perform basic arithmetic calculations.

    + WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    + Two years of experience in shipping/receiving or related setting preferred.

    + Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures; supply management, and tracking budget expenses. Skill in preparing and analyzing technical specifications and bids; verbal and written communication; and in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
