Schedule: 8:15 AM–3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
School Year: 2025–2026
Setting: Integrated & Self-Contained Early Learning Center (ELC)
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Special Education Teacher to support preschool-aged learners (3–5 years old) in both integrated and self-contained classroom environments. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, this educator will play an integral role in designing, implementing, and evaluating individualized programs to meet each child’s developmental, behavioral, and academic needs.
This position is ideal for an educator who values collaboration, creativity, and making meaningful impacts during children’s earliest years of learning.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide high-quality instruction and support to preschool students in integrated and self-contained classrooms.
+ Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Address behavioral needs and implement appropriate interventions and supports.
+ Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and paraprofessional team members.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all compliance requirements.
+ Participate in team meetings, parent communication, and multidisciplinary planning.
Classroom & Caseload
+ AM Session: Integrated classroom with a mix of ECSE and typically developing students (currently 4 students; can increase to 15).
+ PM Session: Self-contained classroom (currently 6 students; can increase to approximately 10).
+ Support Staff: Assigned paraprofessional support in both sessions.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
+ Valid state teaching certificate per district/state regulations.
+ One year of teaching experience (preferred).
+ Preferred certifications:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice.
+ CPR certification, if applicable.
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable.
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state requirement).
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
