GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE** **FUNCTION

The Systems Analyst at Hinds Community College plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing enterprise applications that enable student success and institutional operations. This position focuses on Enterprise Resource Planning and Student Information System (ERP/SIS) and other related systems, ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and functionality across academic and administrative units. The analyst collaborates with departments such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, HR, and Student Services to analyze processes, implement solutions, and maintain data integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS** **REQUIREMENTS

+ Hands-on experience with one or more systems: Ellucian Banner/Colleague, Oracle PeopleSoft, Workday (Student/Finance/HR), Canvas, Blackboard, DegreeWorks, Slate, OnBase, or similar.
+ Proficiency with SQL and data analysis; familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau).
+ Understanding of APIs, ETL, SSO (SAML/OAuth), REST, and integration patterns.
+ Knowledge of FERPA and higher education data privacy/security practices.
EDUCATION AND/OR** **EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 2–5 years experience supporting enterprise applications in higher education.
+ Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner, Colleague, Canvas, Workday or DegreeWorks.
+ Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Argos, Power BI or low-code tools).
+ Familiarity with APIs, ETL processes, and authentication protocols.
+ Knowledge of FERPA and higher education compliance standards.
+ Programming Experience and Database Management preferred.
+ Experience with workflow automation.
+ Experience with testing frameworks and structured UAT cycles
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned enterprise applications (e.g., Banner, Colleague, Workday, Canvas, Blackboard, Slate, DegreeWorks).
+ Configure and maintain workflows, security roles, and system parameters to support institutional policies and compliance (FERPA, GLBA).
+ Manage interfaces and integrations between Banner, Canvas, and other systems using APIs, ETL processes, and SSO (SAML/OAuth).
+ Develop and maintain SQL queries and reports for operational, compliance, and state reporting requirements.
+ Collaborate with functional offices to analyze business processes, identify gaps, and implement automation or efficiency improvements.
+ Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and testing cycles; document changes and ensure minimal disruption during critical academic periods.
+ Provide training and support for end-users and departmental staff; create user guides and SOPs.
+ Communicate project status, risks, and timelines clearly and proactively.
+ Ensure data security and privacy compliance; participate in access reviews and audit preparation.
+ Support disaster recovery planning and maintain system documentation for continuity.
