Job Description
Sr. Instrument Maker
Position Summary
This position hand finishes, assembles and tests reusable surgical instrument families with extremely intricate and small size parts that require accurate fitting and aligning of a repetitive nature for the medical industry. Prepare parts that do not fit or work properly. This position requires moderate supervision. This is accomplished by maintaining Tecomet’s principles of Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Innovations.
Principle Responsibilities
+ All responsibilities of an Instrument Maker I and II in addition to the following
+ Assemble all instrument families (Unassisted)
+ Tests instruments manually to ensure they meet strict inspection standards for very close tolerances and precision fits. Maintains quality standards.
+ Performs hand finishing operations (Unassisted)
+ Demonstrates consistently effective job performance encompassing good quality, quality of work, and dependability.
+ Ability to inspect own work
+ Report programs with quality, processes, equipment and material to Production Supervisor
+ Trains others as needed.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Some related experience and/or training is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:
+ 2+ years of experience in performing secondary operations
+ 5+ years of experience as an Instrument Maker II
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Demonstrated knowledge of and use of calipers, micrometers, pin gages, functional gages, and other inspection equipment.
+ Basic knowledge of math, blueprint reading and marking.
+ Ability to complete required documentation requirements.
+ Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
+ Participate in team-based activities.
+ Understand and can apply regulatory (QSR, ISO, GMP) requirements in everyday activities.
