    About the role:

    The Senior Analyst will play a key role across the full investment lifecycle, supporting both asset management and acquisitions for stabilized, Class A properties, value‑add strategies, lease‑ups, and ground‑up development. The role blends advanced financial modeling, operational analysis, due diligence, and strategic execution for directly owned assets and assets owned with operating partners. Youwillcollaborate closely with property managers, JV partners, leasing teams, and senior leadership to maximize NOI, accelerate lease‑ups, optimize renovation ROI, and underwrite compelling new investments aligned with the platform’s investment strategy. The residential team invests across all residential sub-sectors including multifamily, student housing, SFR/BTR, affordable housing, senior housing and Manufactured Housing.

    This integrated role offers meaningful opportunities to develop deep analytical expertise while gaining visibility across the broader platform. It also reinforces our commitment to sharing insights across residential subsectors and geographies which is an essential foundation for driving investment excellence.

    Acquisitions

    + Underwrite stabilized, value‑add, lease‑up, and development opportunities from a debt and equity perspective using detailed financial models with sensitivities around absorption, rent premiums, renovation scopes, operating expense benchmarks, and capital structure (construction debt, bridge, perm).

    + Conduct market and submarket analysis: supply pipeline, absorption, concessions, rent comps, sales comps, demographics and employment drivers, transportation access, and regulatory factors.

    + Support due diligence, including:

    + Rent roll and lease file review, delinquency, bad debt, collections.

    + Operating statements; utility/contract audits and vendor benchmarking

    + Unit walks and physical inspections; Capital expenditures, deferred maintenance, turns

    + outs and retention.

    + party reports; PCA, environmental, survey/title, zoning/entitlements

    + Assist legal teams in due diligence efforts and contract negotiations.

    + Develop specialized knowledge of geographic regions and residential subsectors.

    + Assist in coordination of transaction execution from LOI through close including diligence trackers, data rooms, IC memo drafting, due diligence memos and closing deliverables.

    Asset Management

    + Build and maintain asset‑and portfolio‑level financial models including rent rolls, lease trade‑outs, outs, renewals, concessions, staffing, operating expense benchmarks, capital expenditure plans, refinancings and hold/sell scenarios.

    + Monitor operating performance relative to underwriting; identify variances and recommend corrective actions (pricing, marketing mix, staffing, vendor optimization, expense controls).

    + Lead/coordinate quarterly reporting: KPI dashboards, valuations, business plan progress, risk assessments, and commentary for stakeholders and investors.

    + Maintain a thorough understanding of all factors affecting markets and submarkets associated with assets in the portfolio, including rental rates and cap rates of comparable properties.

    + Partner with property managers and JV sponsors to optimize leasing, revenue management (e.g., AIRM), marketing ROI (e.g., ILS, paid search/social, signage, referrals, reputation management), resident retention programs, renewal offers, and customer experience

    + Track renovation performance: cost per unit, premium realization, downtime, make‑ready standards, and absorption impact.

    + Support annual budgets and reforecasts; refine assumptions around rent growth, concessions, staffing, R&M, turn costs, and capital.

    + Prepare materials for Investment Committee, fund reporting, and investor communications.

    + Assist in valuation processes and third‑party appraisal reviews.

    + Support lender requests for operating data in coordination with Accounting team.

    What you will need:

    + Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or related field (preferred).

    + 2–5 years relevant experience in multifamily private equity, institutional asset management, development, or real estate investment banking.

    + Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex cash-flow modeling and scenario analysis.

    + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

    + Strong command of multifamily fundamentals.

    + Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize detail into clear actionable recommendations

    + Ability to work within a highly dynamic, fast-paced team and manage priorities.

    + Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, analytical rigor, and capacity to manage multiple transactions and assets concurrently.

    + Resourceful, inquisitive, entrepreneurial mindset with proactive attitude.

    CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $105,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $110,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE IM’s applicable benefit program.
