Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to join our team at Kings Bay. The SSHO will be responsible for ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to in line with OSHA standards and the EM 385-1-1 regulations. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead safety meetings, manage safety documentation, and maintain a safe working environment on-site.

Responsibilities

+ Ensure compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety standards.

+ Conduct safety meetings to review past activities and plan for future operations.

+ Establish and enforce safe working procedures for anticipated hazards.

+ Provide Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) training and motivation to staff.

+ Conduct safety meetings at least once a month for all supervisors and once a week for trade workers.

+ Document and maintain minutes of safety meetings, including date, attendees, subjects discussed, and meeting conductor.

+ Submit safety meeting documentation to the Contracting Officer upon request.

+ Notify the Contracting Officer of scheduled safety meetings 7 days in advance.

+ Ensure the presence of an SSHO or equally qualified Alternate SSHO at the worksite at all times.

Essential Skills

+ Experience and training as identified in EM 385-1-1 regulations.

+ Proficiency in conducting and documenting safety meetings.

+ Ability to implement and administer comprehensive safety programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ OSHA 30 certification.

+ Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 regulations.

+ Quality control experience in construction.

Work Environment

The role is based at Kings Bay and involves working in a construction environment. The SSHO is required to be on-site at all times to oversee safety procedures and ensure the implementation of the contractor's safety program. Regular safety meetings and thorough documentation are integral parts of the work routine.

This is a Contract position based out of Kings Bay Base, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
