Job Description – Test Technician
The Test Technician is responsible for building, assembling, and testing electro‑mechanical prototypes. This role performs electrical checks, executes test procedures, and troubleshoots both hardware and software issues. The technician will work hands‑on with prototyping, basic Python scripting, CAD tools, and fabrication techniques including soldering and cable harnessing.
Key Responsibilities
+ Build and assemble electro‑mechanical prototypes and test fixtures.
+ Perform electrical and mechanical tests using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
+ Execute Python‑based test scripts and assist with basic programming tasks.
+ Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system‑level issues.
+ Support fixture and jig development for testing and validation.
+ Create or update simple CAD models for fixtures and prototype components.
+ Perform soldering, wiring, and harnessing as needed for prototype builds.
+ Document test results and contribute to continuous improvement of test processes.
Required Skills & Experience
+ Strong understanding of electronics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
+ Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with electro‑mechanical devices.
+ Proficiency using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and general diagnostic equipment.
+ Ability to execute Python test scripts.
+ Mechanical aptitude and comfort with mechanical testing.
+ Experience with fixture or jig setup and design.
+ Basic CAD modeling skills.
+ Soldering, wiring, and harness fabrication experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Prior experience in prototype development or product testing environments.
+ Experience designing or developing test fixtures.
+ Familiarity with test execution in R&D or engineering labs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
