    Job Title: Chemist - Gas Chromatography

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Chemist specializing in Gas Chromatography to provide accurate analytical services and results. The role involves performing routine extraction, chemical isolation, and sample clean-up using various techniques. This position requires the operation of laboratory equipment such as blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform routine extraction, chemical isolation, and sample clean-up using blending, shaking, Soxhlet extraction, digestion, SPE, distillation/condensation, liquid-liquid partitioning, and chemical derivatization.

    + Operate laboratory apparatus including blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.

    + Independently document and prepare reagents and analytical working standards according to current SOPs.

    + Extract samples and prepare reagents according to documented methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in gas chromatography, GCMS, and mass spectrometry.

    + Experience with Tandem Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatography Reaction Monitoring.

    + Knowledge of Agilent and Masshunter software.

    + Expertise in sample preparation and extraction techniques.

    + Familiarity with chromatographic separation and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience in inorganic and analytical chemistry.

    + Troubleshooting skills in GC analysis.

    + Ability to work with laboratory equipment such as balances and pipettes.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a laboratory setting, utilizing general laboratory equipment and technologies. Employees enjoy designated free parking downtown.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
