Are you a licensedPhysical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologistready to make a difference in the lives of 0-3 year-olds and their families as an early interventionist? The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Infant Toddler Program seeks unique individuals who can meld specialized pediatric therapy with key evidence-based practices that impact caregiver expertise and the progressive development of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
The geographical assignment for this role isBoiseand its surrounding areas. Travel is required to provide in-person services in the child’s natural environments—such as home or childcare settings; state cars are provided. Program eligibility assessments are primarily administered as a co-evaluator in the facility play space and involves the child’s parent/guardian. Therapeutic services are delivered using coaching interaction methods, which may be conducted through both virtual presence and in-person visits. As an interventionist, you will apply evidence-based practices of caregiver consultation, strategy coaching, and knowledge-sharing to capitalize on child interests and learning opportunities that progress the child’s participation and development.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
+ Execute comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to analyze and interpret developmental function, ensuring accurate eligibility determination and the design of data-driven intervention strategies.
+ Collaborate on Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development, leading progress reviews and transition planning in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and families.
+ Engineer and refine evidence-based intervention practices in coordination with the Infant Toddler Team model to facilitate functional development and measurable child progress.
+ Facilitate routine-based intervention sessions within natural environments and family routines, emphasizing caregiver coaching and active participation to sustain developmental gains.
+ Champion evidence-based practices tailored to the birth-to-three population, integrating adult learning principles and collaborative teaming models.
+ Act as the Primary Service Provider (PSP), representing the multidisciplinary team while providing holistic, integrated support to assigned families.
+ Uphold rigorous documentation standards for all therapeutic services and coaching sessions, ensuring full compliance with program timelines and regulatory protocols.
+ Coordinate scheduling for evaluations and interventions, managing logistical requirements and state vehicle usage in adherence to organizational policy.
+ Drive cross-disciplinary expertise exchange through active participation in team consultations and strategic community partnerships.

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. + Licensure as a physical therapist in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2202.
+ Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
