    Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description

     

    Join a dynamic team in a coil and rotor manufacturing and repair shop. Utilize your skills in machining gears, shafts, and bearings to contribute to the production and maintenance of electrical motors.

    Responsibilities

    + Machine gears, shafts, and bearings for electrical motors.

    + Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.

    + Interpret complex engineering drawings and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts meet specifications.

    + Run and set up manual lathes and mills efficiently.

    + Select and set up fixtures, vises, and clamps to secure workpieces without introducing distortion.

    + Maintain tolerances as tight as thousandths of an inch using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in manual machining, including lathe and mill operations.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

    + Mastery of measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

    + Experience with manual lathes and mills setup and operation.

    + Troubleshooting skills in machining processes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency in G-code and M-code for writing, editing, and troubleshooting machine instructions.

    + Expertise in setting up complex multi-axis machines (3, 4, and 5-axis).

    + Skill in using Haas, Fanuc, Bridgeport, and Mazak equipment.

    + Strong understanding of tooling and fixture selection.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job

    classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
