General:

Site security is responsible for securing the premises and safety of site personnel by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, performing building inspections, and controlling entry points. Security personnel are visible and observant at all times and are courteous and attentive in greeting employees, guests, and vendors. The position reports to the Safety & Health Manager with the primary work schedule 12-hr, 2-2-3-2-2-3 on straight nights with flexibility to work early/ late shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

+ Patrol site premises; monitor surveillance equipment; perform building/equipment inspections

+ Ensure site entrances are at proper access status and control access points

+ Direct heavy traffic during start/end of operating hours

+ Execute appropriate actions to deescalate all volatile situations / events

+ Investigate and make contact with internal leadership / external security resources when incidents, suspicious activities, or emergencies require

+ Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards at work station, entrances & building exterior

+ Complete required security, safety, and compliance training (safety, quality, logistics)

+ Deliver documentation of observations, surveillance footage, and other relevant information

+ Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements

Education:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Registered security officer (preferred / not required)

+ First Aid Certified; CPR/BLS and self-defense (preferred / not required)

Experience:

+ Min 3 years working knowledge and experience in security-related role (preferred/ not required)

+ Experience with security equipment and surveillance systems

+ Law enforcement-related experience (preferred/ not required)

Skills/Abilities/Attributes:

+ 3+ years site security experience at industrial / commercial business facility (preferred / not required)

+ Manage security detail w/ minimum supervision

+ Helpful, courteous team player; able to respectfully challenge and deescalate situations

+ Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to represent the face-of-the-company

+ Min. basic computer skills & experience managing security monitoring systems

Physical Requirements:

+ Lift / move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.

+ Sit or stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop for prolong periods

+ Work indoor and outdoor environment in varying temperatures e.g., 30 - 100 degrees
