Shift: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Summary:
+ The Outpatient Procedure Scheduler in the Division of Cardiology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is responsible for scheduling cardiac patients for EP Lab procedures and studies through collaboration with physicians, physician's offices, patients and other Hospital Staff, including admissions, Patient access, EP lab, and Echo lab.
+ The Scheduler is also trained to schedule Cath Lab and Invasive Vascular procedures, including: Packets, Reservations Forms, Insurance Authorizations, and to verify insurance is current.
Responsibilities:
+ Accurately schedules/coordinates procedures and document needed information in the appropriate systems. Scheduling includes, but is not limited to, collecting correct patient information (demographics, insurance) and appropriate case data, and moving/canceling visit based on physician and/or patient availability.
+ Provides timely responses to patient messages and document follow-up on insurance issues in medical record.
+ Verifies appointment availability for each request using the scheduling system.
+ Ensures complete accuracy when scheduling to include informing patients of all required information necessary on day of exam procedure.
+ Patient/Customer Focus: Building strong patient/customer relationships and delivering patient centric solutions
+ Exemplifies customer service by answering phones and interacting with patients, staff and clinicians in a timely and pleasant manner.

Credentials:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ 1-2 years of Healthcare experience (Required)
