    The Team

     

    We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Venue Solutions and Design (“VSD”) to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Network Engineering & Technology Solutions team. The Network Engineering & Technology Solutions team designs, maintains, and monitors all active network connectivity and performance. The Senior Engineer leads the design and technical implementation of connectivity solutions for complex project scopes in malls, casinos, hospitality and healthcare venues, education campus environments, multi-dwelling units, multi-tenant units, outdoor networks in private venues, public rights of way, and other such venues. Day to day responsibilities include the end-to-end ownership of all engineering-related tasks such as defining core network architectures, original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) selections, and network design and planning for capacity/future growth. You will support internal and external resources to ensure the completed networks meet or exceed technical and customer requirements and will handle multiple projects, playing a vital technical role for successfully accomplishing project milestones. As a Senior Engineer, you will partner cross-functionally to develop and deploy designs that meet or exceed technical stated key performance requirements _._

    What You Need To Succeed

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and more than 8 years of relevant experience required.

    + iBWave Level 2 certification or 3 years of hands-on iBWave experience required.

    + A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible RF engineering experience, at least 4 of which directly involved Inbuilding network solutions and designs as a primary job responsibility preferred.

    + Knowledge of IP network design, planning, configuration, integration, testing, and security required. CCNA certification preferred.

    + Strong critical thinking skills, with a proven capability to work well independently and with others to solve problems.

    + Approximately 50% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

    + While performing the role you may need to lift up to 25 lbs.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

    + Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

    + Able to cultivate a collaborative a team dynamic that enables the organization to meet stated business objectives.

    + Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

     

    American Tower is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, certifications, job level, and location. For U.S.-based candidates only, the base salary range for this position is $133,500-$167,000 annually with eligibility for annual bonus, and annual equity award and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). For candidates outside of the U.S., salary and benefits are based upon local market practice.

    What You Can Offer Us

    + Define appropriate network engineering requirements (fiber, electrical power, RF, monitoring, IP Network design, etc.).

    + Create and review designs using engineering tools such as iBWave and ATOLL.

    + Lead customer technical meetings to establish technical requirements and scopes of work.

    + Act as a technical subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.

    + Facilitate timely and effective customer communication through regular meetings, reporting, site visits, and conference calls.

    + Manage and direct contract resources, temporary technical staff, and engineering vendors.

    + Manage multiple projects and provide regular status updates and progress reports to customers and management. Compile and maintain all project documentation in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

    + Participate in special projects and initiatives and provide progress reports to management.

    + As a Senior Engineer, VSD you may be responsible for the recruitment, performance management, and career development of Engineers and Associate Engineers.

    + Other duties as assigned.
