Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and support assembly processes. This role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective assembly operations while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with engineering specifications.

Process development and optimization

+ Design, implement, and improve assembly processes

+ Develop standard work instructions and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards

Continuous Improvement

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles

+ Reduce cycle time, improve ergonomics, and minimize waste in assembly operations

Technical support

+ Provide engineering support to production teams for troubleshooting assembly issues

+ Collaborate with design engineering to resolve manufacturability concerns

Tooling & Equipment

+ Specify and procure assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment

+ Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of assembly tools

Quality & Compliance

+ Monitor assembly quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed

+ Ensure compliance with ISO standards and quality

Documentation & Reporting

+ Maintain accurate process documentation, including PFMEA, controls plans and work instructions

+ Prepare reports on process performance and improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

+ Education- Bachelors degree in engineering

+ 2+ years in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably assembly operations

+ strong knowledge of assembly processes and Lean Manufacturing principles

+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

+ Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Normal, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $55.25/hr.
