    Job Title: Safety Manager

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team for a large life sciences/pharma manufacturing project in Boulder, CO. This project involves the demolition of an existing building to prepare for the construction of a new facility on a large pharmaceutical campus. The position is a full-time, salaried role expected to run for the remaining 12 months of the project. While we prefer local candidates, we are open to travelers for two specialist roles. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in safety management, with one lead position requiring over 15 years of experience.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead efforts in creating Site Specific Safety Plans.

    + Coordinate with the project team to establish a safe working environment.

    + Conduct and coordinate all-hands site safety meetings on a monthly basis.

    + Attend project foremen’s meetings to discuss safety topics and concerns.

    + Act as a liaison between the client and the team on safety issues.

    + Issue and assist with safety permits including Hot Work, LOTO, Trenching, and Confined Space.

    + Assist in planning high-risk activities and review/sign off on plans such as crane picks and confined space entries.

    + Conduct weekly Site Safety Audits to ensure safe working conditions.

    + Ensure subcontractors follow OSHA, state, and site-specific regulations.

    + Supervise subcontractor activities, ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    + Ensure compliance with safety documentation such as JHAs and Method Statements.

    + Collect and record data and pertinent information.

    + Attend foreman coordination meetings to provide safety guidance.

    + Ensure all PPE and safety equipment are stocked and ready for use.

    + Stay updated on the latest industry rules, regulations, and standards.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years in construction safety

    + Experience in safety management

    + Knowledge of OSHA regulations

    + Experience with Site Safety, Safety Audits, and Safety Management

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + CHST or SSHO certification highly preferred

    + OSHA 500 certification preferred

    + Proficiency in using a personal laptop for work tasks

    Work Environment

    This role will be based on-site at a large pharmaceutical campus in Boulder, CO. The typical workweek will consist of approximately 40 hours. The work environment will involve coordination with various teams and subcontractors, requiring a proactive approach to safety management and compliance. The position necessitates a balance between acting as a coach and ensuring compliance without being overly authoritative.

    This is a Contract position based out of Boulder, CO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $62.00/hr.
