    Job Title: Lab Assistant/Specimen ProcessorJob Description

     

    Join a dynamic team as a Lab Assistant/Specimen Processor where you will be instrumental in processing laboratory specimens in compliance with IRB approved protocols and laboratory manuals. This role involves receiving, centrifuging, aliquoting, and storing biological specimens such as blood, urine, and stool from study participants. The position requires meticulous documentation at each stage of processing.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and process biological specimens in accordance with the protocol and lab manual.

    + Centrifuge and process blood samples, and manipulate into sub-samples or aliquots as needed.

    + Document each stage of PK processing, including centrifuge in/out times.

    + Affix specimen labels prior to initiating processing and organize PK Cryovials.

    + Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

    + Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, CLIA, GLP, and laboratory guidelines.

    + Escalate any discrepancies or issues observed during specimen processing.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-5 years of experience in specimen processing.

    + High attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

    + Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus and commitment.

    + High ethical standards and quality mindset.

    + Familiarity with FDA regulations and laboratory protocols.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School graduate or equivalent.

    + Experience with PK processing, aliquoting, and accessioning.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a certified clinical diagnostic laboratory located in the UMD Bio Park, Baltimore. The facility operates under strict FDA and SOP guidelines and is compliant with USP 795/797. The role offers exposure to clinical studies that vary weekly, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work experience. Enjoy the convenience of paid parking in a garage nearby. This early phase 1 CRO is one of the few on the East Coast, providing a unique opportunity in the field.

    This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
