Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations within a government setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices, grant management, and expertise in financial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate records using J.D. Edwards software.

• Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment approvals.

• Oversee grant accounting by tracking expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, and preparing required reports.

• Analyze financial data and create comprehensive reports using advanced Microsoft Excel tools, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Assist in improving accounting processes and ensuring adherence to government financial regulations.

• Reconcile accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial reporting and compliance efforts.

• Utilize government accounting knowledge to ensure transparency and accuracy in all financial activities.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in government accounting.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

• Proficiency in accounts payable processes and systems.

• Demonstrated experience managing and reporting on government grants, including compliance and cost tracking.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.

• Familiarity with J.D. Edwards software or similar financial systems.

• Strong knowledge of county government accounting practices.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
