Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Bronx, New York. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will excel in overseeing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor an Accounting Clerk, promoting efficient and accurate financial workflows.

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, ensuring books are balanced and records are current.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including monitoring collections and utilizing Yardi systems.

• Lead month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and providing audit support.

• Oversee the creation and processing of bills, ensuring adherence to company policies.

• Perform account reconciliations for general ledger and bank statements to ensure data integrity.

• Develop comprehensive financial analyses and reports using Microsoft Excel.

• Collaborate with leadership to generate insightful financial reports that aid in strategic decision-making.

• Ensure all accounting practices align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Requirements • Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

• Strong experience in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

• Expertise in bank reconciliations and audit preparation.

• Familiarity with Yardi software for accounts management and reporting.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills for team collaboration.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
