Description We are a well-established jewelry and precious metals company located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Our business is built on precision, trust, and exceptional service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support our finance operations and help maintain accurate, timely financial records.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting operational needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within the jewelry and precious metals trade.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor invoices, customer payments, and billing.

Perform daily bank, cash, and merchant account reconciliations.

Track inventory adjustments and cost allocations related to jewelry and precious metals.

Reconcile precious metal purchases, sales, and transfers with internal logs and third-party reports.

Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports for management.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Manage petty cash, expense reimbursements, and credit card transactions.

Maintain organized digital and physical financial files.

Support external CPA with tax filings, audits, and requests.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, and best accounting practices.

Handle confidential information with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; experience in jewelry, precious metals, pawn, or high-value inventory environments preferred.

Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.

Solid understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting.

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations).

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
