Exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a full or part time Peer Specialist!
Non-Certified Peer Specialist pay rate range: $15.81 -$16.78
(Salary posted in posting is for a Certified Peer): $18.06 - $19.09
If you are either a OMH NY Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) via the Academy of Peer Services credentialing or
OASAS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Must show proof of certification!
Our Crisis Residence provides a safe, supportive environment designed to help individuals stabilize psychiatric symptoms while offering person-centered, trauma-informed services. This short-term program allows participants to stay for up to 28 days as they prepare to transition back into the community.
Join our team and make a meaningful impact in advancing our comprehensive specialty care residence while supporting participants on their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide direct support services to participants.
+ Educate clients about available community resources.
+ Assist participants in connecting with program services.
+ Accompany participants to appointments as needed.
+ Support clients in developing health literacy skills.
+ Share effective coping strategies based on personal lived experience.
+ Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency standards.
+ Promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, and belonging.
Qualifications:
+ Valid and clean New York State driver’s license is preferred.
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Lived experience with homelessness, mental illness, substance use, or living with HIV/AIDS is required.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Reliable transportation is required.
+ Certification(s), if applicable, must be provided.
