Job Summary: Assists the Supervisor with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory and training staff as needed. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of vascular disease and new procedures, as they evolve.

Important Details:
• Sign on bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) within the first 30 days of employment and is subject to applicable taxes. You will receive the second payment at six (6) months and the third payment (final third of total amount) one year following your start date and all payments subject to applicable taxes.
• Full time status at BIDMC is considered for schedules greater than or equal to 30 hours per week; part time status is 20 to 29 hours per week. Please note, per diem employees are not eligible for sign on bonuses.
• Current and Former BILH candidates - restrictions apply. BIDMC Internal employees or employees within the BILH system are not eligible for the bonus or if you have been employed by a BILH entity within the last 12 months.
• Please note, sign on bonuses are subject to change based on the organization’s hiring needs and will be determined by Talent Acquisition on an ongoing basis. BILH/BIDMC Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change sign on bonus eligible jobs and amounts at any time.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations.
+ Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
+ Coordinates work schedule with Supervisor/Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
+ Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while in the technologist/sonographers care.
+ Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures to patients. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
+ Vocational or Technical training required in Vascular Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasound. Bachelor's degree preferred in Vascular Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasound
+ ARDMS- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required,. and certification required: Basic Life Support certification, Registered vascular Tech- RVT or Registered Vascular Specialist- RVS
+ 1-2 years related work experience required.
+ Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

**Oral Communications:** Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

**Team Work:** Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
**Customer Service:** Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Age based Competencies:
Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Young adult: 16-30 years, Middle Age: 30 - 60 years, Elderly: 60 -.
Physical Nature of the Job:
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. Work is physically demanding and requires extended periods of standing and/or moving.
Pay Range:
$49.00 - $72.81
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
