Job Title: Collections Analyst
Job Description
As a Collections Analyst, you will engage with customers to secure timely payments and resolve any concerns. You will be responsible for identifying and correcting billing discrepancies, reducing past-due balances, and maintaining account currency. Additionally, you will detect and resolve cash application errors and investigate chargeback deductions. This role also involves handling special projects, collaborating with internal teams, and contributing to process improvements.
Responsibilities
+ Contact clients via phone/email to secure timely payments and resolve concerns.
+ Identify and correct billing discrepancies.
+ Proactively reduce past-due balances and maintain account currency.
+ Detect and resolve cash application errors.
+ Investigate and resolve chargeback deductions.
+ Handle special projects and contribute to process improvements.
+ Work with internal teams and customers to provide effective solutions.
+ Issue and distribute invoices.
+ Process new contracts and sales.
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy.
+ Address customer complaints and questions.
+ Keep track of accounts receivable and transactions.
+ Assist with customer account reconciliations.
+ Prepare and present analytical reports.
+ Support monthly and quarterly audits and resolve any issues or mistakes.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Accounting, Invoicing, Data Entry, and Billing Systems.
+ Strong skills in Excel, including formula usage.
+ Accuracy in accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation, collection, and bookkeeping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant work experience.
+ 3+ years of billing experience in a high-volume setting.
Work Environment
The role is based in a corporate office, requiring presence five days a week. The work schedule offers flexibility with start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, maintaining a 40-hour workweek. Lunch can be taken for either half an hour or an hour. There is an option to work nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday and leave at noon on Fridays, provided the total work hours are met. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
