Job Description
The Environment Director of Operations is the operational leader responsible for the successful performance of AECOM’s West Region Environment business line, working closely with the Regional Business Line Leader, Business Line Growth Lead, Practice Leads and Practice Operations Leads to grow the business profitably. The Director of Operations will report directly to the West Region Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative change agent, passionate about our people, and eager to drive a culture of continuous improvement into the business. This is a hybrid position, and the ideal candidate will be local to a West Region office.
Key responsibilities associated with this role include a detailed understanding of the performance drivers of the business and the development and implementation of action plans to improve results.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
+ Day to day operational business line management, driving Net Service Revenue, DPE, project margins, SG&A, EBITA, and DSO.
+ Comprehensive understanding of P&L performance and development of full year forecasts, by Practice, in partnership with Finance.
+ Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with senior level region, business line and technical leaders within the company and with other organizations.
+ Responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees. Champions the AECOM Safety for Life Program and prioritizes safety above all.
+ Set strategy for business line quality program, ensuring consistent adherence to AECOM Project Delivery System requirements on all projects in the portfolio.
+ Partners with Practice Leads to develop strategy for growth and assists with actionable tactics to implement.
+ Core competencies in professional staff development, mentorship, and retention are critical.
+ Leads with a growth mindset. Translates pipeline to upcoming resource needs. Develops resourcing strategy with Practice Leads to drive hiring, workshare, and utilization of Enterprise Capabilities.
+ Leverages the network of Portfolio Delivery Leads to ensure project delivery excellence.
+ Cash management, driving timely invoicing and collection of accounts receivable.
+ Drives process improvement to remove inefficiencies and increase effectiveness.
+ Communicates with staff to ensure all initiatives are delivered and executed in a positive and effective manner.
+ Collaborates with capture teams and Regional Risk Manager to facilitate required risk review and approval for pursuits.
+ Routine coordination with support functions (Project Controls, Finance, HR, Legal, Quality, Safety, Procurement) to drive alignment across all facets of the business.

+ Strong Project Management background, with detailed knowledge of managing projects at AECOM.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 12+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education, including 4 years of leadership
+ Proven record of managing teams and developing a collaborative culture
+ Proven financial and operational acumen
Additional Information
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $265000 to $300000.
