Job Description
Temporary Office Pool
Hiring Range: $23/hr to $25/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Reports To: Dr. Carolina Vélez-Grau, Boston College School of Social Work
The temporary coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining community relationships, managing the logistics of our community-facing research activities, and supporting participant recruitment and engagement. Understanding the community and health systems is crucial, and this includes leveraging their bilingual (English/Spanish) skills to ensure our research is responsive, respectful, and impactful.
Core Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement & Partnership Building (40%)
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for community organizations, including partnering youth community centers.
+ Organize and coordinate community events, advisory board meetings, and training sessions to ensure effective execution of research aims.
+ Build and maintain relationships of trust with community participants.
+ Conduct bilingual (English/Spanish) outreach to community members to promote awareness of research initiatives and health resources.
+ Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement community engagement strategies.
2. Research Coordination & Logistics (40%)
+ Support all phases of the research process, from recruitment to dissemination.
+ Manage logistics for field-based research activities, including scheduling and securing locations.
+ Assist with the development of community-facing materials (e.g., consent forms, recruitment flyers, policy briefs) in both English and Spanish.
+ Assist with IRB requirements and project amendments.
+ Provide administrative support to the project team, including managing calendars and team communications
3. Data Management & Participant Support (20%)
+ Track participant data and metrics using database systems (e.g., REDCap, etc.).
+ Conduct data entry and ensure the quality and integrity of community-level data.
+ Assist community members in navigating healthcare and support services, providing appropriate referrals and follow-up.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred, 1-3 years professional experience preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
