    Waste Connections (Soldotna, AK)


    Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company has an immediate position available for a Transfer Station Attendant at our location in Soldotna, AK! This is a full-time position, with a varying schedule from summer to winter months.

     

    The schedule will be 3 days a week-10-hour days from October to April. 3-4 days a week-10 hour days in summer months, May to September. Starting pay is $20-25.00 per hour DOE.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Opening and closing the transfer site, and monitoring the site at all times during operating hours

    + Greeting, directing, discussing issues with, and educating customers of onsite rules and restrictions in a polite and courteous manner

    + Directing and tracking incoming traffic, monitoring waste material flow, and notifying Dispatch when a container is in need of service

    + Monitoring and screening waste loads for prohibited or hazardous materials Immediate containment, cleanup, and necessary reporting of any hazardous or prohibited materials spilled at the facility

    + Assisting with waste stream analysis, site maintenance projects, data entry, or other work as directed Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times

    + Maintaining regular and predictable attendance

    Requirements:

    + At least 2+ years of work experience, preferably in a labor type position.

    + The ability to lift up to 75 pounds

    + Experience operating equipment is a plus

    + Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift
