Description
The University of Rochester's Department of Dermatology seeks to add a faculty position at the level of Instructor. The responsibilities of this position include: (1) Developing methods for integrating photonic sensors with microphysiological systems (MPS, or “tissue chips”) modeling the blood-brain barrier; (2) Conducting computational simulations of new MPS using finite-element models (i.e. COMSOL); (3) testing neuroinflammatory properties of small-molecule drugs and monoclonal antibodies using MPS; (4) participate in training undergraduates, graduate students, and medical residents in the Department of Dermatology.
The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field and will be responsible for enhancing and expanding an academic research laboratory in Dermatology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
