Chevron is accepting online applications for the **Subsurface Manager** position in Minot, through 1/15/2026 at **11:59 p.m.** (CST).
The Subsurface Manager supervises a team of production engineers (including WRO) and technicians to optimize well performance and ensure economic value through asset lifecycle. This role involves leading the team to address subsurface challenges ensuring the integrity/efficiency of subsurface operations and working with Surface Team Lead where opportunities intersect. Ensure profitability of subsurface projects through cost effective designs delivered on time in alignment with field operations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to
+ Promotes and supports embedment of safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a safety leader
+ Ensure complete alignment of team resources to achieve goals of Asset Lifecycle Manager to deliver yearly targets and improvement against business plan.
+ Owns Artificial Lift Playbook adherences and deviations
+ Support and collaborate with value streams to prepare LPO forecasting for Base Business activities.
+ Subsurface reliability and integrity planning for all asset.
+ Support P&A queue generation.
+ Provide reliability and maintainability input to the design of new projects including standardization and selection of equipment/parts and components.
+ Develop and support development of capital (capex) and operating costs (opex) budgets for existing and new facilities; collaborate with other disciplines as required.
+ Identify opportunities for cost reduction through system and process optimization.
+ Align with contractors to reduce cost and promote continuous improvement.
+ Coach and mentor team of Production Engineers supporting the asset to deliver on yearly Production and Cost Targets while maintaining a focus on safety and environmental stewardship that are aligned with Snr Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering preferred, OR
+ Technical school graduate from program that focused on petroleum engineering plus relevant experience.
+ Minimum 10 years’ experience in Production Engineering and/or oil & gas field-related engineering/operations role
+ Knowledge of Artificial Lift systems (rod pump, gas lift, and ESP), Production optimization, Production Chemistry/Flow Assurance and well construction/completions required.
+ Knowledgeable in application of economic evaluation to support projects
+ Possess strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to lead, coach, and train others
+ Developed analytical and complex problem-solving skills with attention to detail and process improvements
+ Ability to work effectively across teams in an inclusive diverse, multidiscipline environment
Work Environment
+ Office – 80% / Field – 20%
+ Travel may be required for this role.
