    Position Summary:

    This position is responsible for delivering valuable insights and strategic recommendations for casino gaming operations from data-driven analyses.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

    + Provides meaningful recommendations for business decisions to the Casino Analytics Manager based on analytical models

    + Leverages data to seek new gaming revenue opportunities and optimize operational procedures in efforts to maximize bottom line performance

    + Provides analysis and reporting on slot machine & table games performance and casino operations labor to improve casino profitability

    + Analyzes effects of slot machine changes and table games rules to maintain optimal casino profitability

    + Analyzes trends and patron preference to maximize gaming profitability and optimize unit mix

    + Analyzes key aspects of patron gaming activity and evaluates casino marketing reinvestment in efforts to maximize house advantage

    + Assists in the evaluation of gaming procedures and rules

    + Works closely with IT and Marketing departments to evaluate data integrity

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Assists operating departments with various ad hoc requests related to financial performance

    + Assists in the budget process when necessary

    + Floor observations

    Minimum Education and Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science or a related field

    + At least two years of relevant working experience in analytics, data analysis, business intelligence or quantitative research is required. Experience relevant in the gaming industry is preferred.

    + Proficiency in SQL is required

    + Proficiency in Python or R is required and advanced knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI is preferred

    + Knowledge of casino game rules and factors that affect house advantage

    + Knowledge of gambling mathematical theory

    + Knowledge of quantitative methods

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to discern relevant information from multiple data sources

    + Ability to effectively communicate key research and recommendations to management

    + Strong critical thinking skills, particularly for problem solving and trend identification

    + Strong analytical, communication and financial presentation skills

    Training Requirements:

    + Mohegan Sun’s corporate and department policies and procedures

    + Trained in Cognos Upfront and Cognos Finance

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    + Office work environment

    + Must sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time

    + Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
