Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Director to join our team on a contract basis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee key HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare organization and work closely with senior leadership to drive impactful initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead all HR functions: recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.

+ Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with organizational goals.

+ Ensure compliance with federal/state employment laws typical to health care (e.g., FLSA, EEOC, HIPAA).

+ Oversee benefits administration, compensation planning, and HR policy updates.

+ Manage HR vendor relationships, including payroll and insurance.

+ Provide training & development programs and foster a positive culture.

+ Conduct workforce planning, retention strategies, and organizational development.

+ Serve as part of the senior leadership team, advising on strategic planning and risk management.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.

+ 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience—ideally in health centers or healthcare nonprofits.

+ Proven experience with compliance, labor relations, and health center-specific regulations.

+ Strong knowledge of executive total rewards, benefits plans, and HRIS systems.

+ Excellent strategic leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
