    Job Title: Civil Engineer

    Job Description

    Prepare construction documents and specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. This includes creating plans for existing conditions, demolition, site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, infrastructure, and construction details. Perform design calculations for utilities, stormwater management, green infrastructure, earthwork, grading, and erosion control. Coordinate permitting reviews with multiple agencies, including local municipalities and government bodies. Produce technical documentation, such as Stormwater Management Reports and Traffic & Circulation Analysis. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project team members to develop integrated sustainable solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare and produce construction documents and specifications.

    + Perform design calculations for various engineering aspects.

    + Coordinate permitting review processes with multiple agencies.

    + Write concise technical reports and analyses.

    + Collaborate with other professionals to create sustainable solutions.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    + Experience in site design and stormwater management.

    + B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.

    + At least 2 years of experience in Site Civil/Land Development.

    + Good written and oral communication skills.

    + Valid driver's license.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Knowledge of site grading, sanitary sewer design, water supply systems.

    + Experience in both private and public sector projects.

    + At least 1 year of experience working in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in an open-office environment in the Darien office, working on the Land Development team with 6-7 engineers and designers. The role is collaborative, requiring close communication with others. Work is production-based, with in-office days from Monday to Thursday and half-day on Fridays. The dress code is business professional Monday through Thursday and slightly more casual on Fridays. The building is LEED Platinum certified, offering ample parking and a kitchen facility. The company observes 6 standard holidays and provides 3 weeks of PTO, including one week for sick time.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $37.50/hr.
