Job Description

The Prevention Specialist is a crucial member of the Education & Prevention Team, tasked with delivering testing, health education, and community outreach services. This role involves direct interaction with clients, meticulous documentation, and active participation in community events to enhance health awareness. The Prevention Specialist will support preventative navigation and strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

+ Deliver health education and community outreach services.

+ Engage in direct client interaction and provide phlebotomy services.

+ Accurately document client interactions and maintain records.

+ Participate in community events to promote health awareness.

+ Support preventative navigation and health education initiatives.

+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in health education and community outreach.

+ Strong engagement skills with clients and community members.

+ Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and documentation.

+ Strong data entry skills.

+ Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.

+ 1-2 years' experience in community outreach/engagement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma required.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Public Health (or MPH) preferred.

+ Experience in sample labeling and processing.

+ Experience performing health coaching or education.

Work Environment

The position is based at the Oakland Park health clinic with regular travel to alternate clinics. The schedule is full-time from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional weekend event requirements. The work environment is a blend of office tasks and outreach events, requiring local travel for community outreach and mobile unit responsibilities. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
