    Job Title: Welder

    Job Description

    Under close or minimum supervision, welds sub-assembly and/or finished products in accordance with written and verbal instructions. This includes GMAW Process (MIG) Welding, Air Arc Gouging of A36 to 4140 heat treated steel in the flat, horizontal, and vertical planes. Performs on-line testing and inspection activities with minimal supervision. Cleans and prepares units for the next operation as per procedures. Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures, wearing protective equipment to meet or exceed OSHA and company requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Weld sub-assembly and finished products using GMAW Process (MIG) Welding.

    + Perform Air Arc Gouging of A36 to 4140 heat treated steel in various planes.

    + Conduct on-line testing and inspection activities with minimal supervision.

    + Clean and prepare units for subsequent operations.

    + Comply with safety and hazardous material procedures and wear necessary protective equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a manufacturing shop with welding, machining, assembly, packing, and shipping activities. The environment is non-climate controlled, requiring steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and jeans. The shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, with flexibility required as operations continue from 5am to 4:30pm almost daily, providing opportunities for additional hours.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
