Job Title: Shipping Clerk - Kits 17/hr

Job Description

The Shipping Clerk - Kits is responsible for efficiently using a computer system with tickets to determine which items to kit and pack. On average, the role involves handling 4-500 pieces per hour, totaling approximately 14,000 pieces per week. The clerk must report any inventory discrepancies to supervision, prioritize packing the oldest date available first, and adhere to specific customer guidelines. Cell phone usage is prohibited during work hours, and logging in and out of equipment after completion is necessary. Equipment sharing is required within the facility.

Responsibilities

+ Use computer systems for kit and pack tasks.

+ Manage and report inventory discrepancies.

+ Prioritize packing oldest date items first.

+ Adhere to specific customer guidelines.

+ Log in and out of equipment upon task completion.

+ Share equipment with colleagues in the facility.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift 20 lbs consistently for an 8-hour day.

+ Previous experience in fast-paced work environments.

+ Comfortable with computer systems and RF scanner usage.

+ Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.

+ Proficiency in inventory control and data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in pick and pack operations.

+ Background in distribution, logistics, or warehouse.

+ Proficiency in using RF scanners.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large 123,000 square foot warehouse/distribution site, accommodating roughly 40 employees. There are two openings for the 1st shift from 8 am to 4:30 pm, one for a Picker and one for a Packer. Overtime is infrequent and typically voluntary, usually on Saturdays. The interview process involves one step. No steel-toed shoes are required, and candidates can wear tasteful attire such as shorts or cut-offs, provided they cover necessary body parts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perrysburg, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
