    Job Description

    As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in food preparation, meal service, and maintaining cleanliness within a skilled nursing setting. You will assist in food preparation, serve meals according to resident needs, clean kitchen and dining areas, and provide excellent customer service while adhering to strict food safety and sanitation rules.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist cooks with food preparation, including chopping vegetables and making salads.

    + Assemble and serve meal trays to residents, ensuring meals meet specific dietary needs.

    + Collect used trays and clean kitchen equipment, dining areas, and floors.

    + Follow all health, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures.

    + Monitor residents' appetite and meal refusals, providing feedback to the care team.

    + Unpack groceries, set tables, and perform other tasks as directed by supervisors.

    Essential Skills

    + Attention to detail and time management.

    + Good communication skills.

    + Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting and bending.

    + Proficiency in dishwashing and cleaning tasks.

    + Knowledge of food safety and sanitation fundamentals.

    + Current state food handler certification.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    + Previous experience in healthcare or institutional food service is preferred.

    + Computer skills are beneficial.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a fast-paced skilled nursing center focused on resident comfort and care, under the supervision of a Food Service Director or Manager.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnstown, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
