    Job Title: General Labor

    Job Description

    Join our Environmental team and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and environmentally compliant facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of the facility, grounds, and all property elements.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean and sweep facility areas.

    + Move materials and scrap metal.

    + Eliminate debris and waste.

    + Maintain general facility upkeep.

    + Participate in production activities.

    + Pick and sort materials.

    + Load and unload shipments.

    + Perform general cleaning and maintenance.

    + Dispose of trash and debris by sweeping and shoveling.

    + Use pressure washers on equipment.

    + Complete additional tasks as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + General labor experience.

    + Experience in construction and landscaping.

    + At least 1 year of experience working in an outdoor environment.

    + Proficiency in cleaning and janitorial duties.

    + General construction skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to communicate effectively in English.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a steel, metal, and auto recycling facility with over 100 years of history. The site in Oakland features both an indoor production area and a large outdoor yard. Expect an environment with heavy machinery, moving parts, loud noises, and dust. Positions are primarily in the Joint Products department, which offers a partially indoor experience. The dress code requires steel toe shoes, pants, a plain t-shirt or sweater, and a provided vest. Shifts include both AM and PM options, with potential Saturday overtime twice a month.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
