    Description

    MIG Welders are responsible for Operating welders to produce steel and aluminum parts for the consumer and industrial storages and climbing units.

    Welders will be setting up welder, making necessary adjustments, and replacing spool of welding wire and tips as necessary.

    They will obtain designated parts from basket, stack all, skid, or floor, place completed products on conveyor lines, or to the floor, basket, or stack all as designated to keep in moving down the line.

    Welders also perform visual and periodic measurement inspections of parts/products to maintain conformance with quality standards, using blueprints as the guide.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    All welding there is MIG. Steel gauge is 16 - 12. They are a true production welding format. There are 4 stations. 1st station tack welds and the rest MIG weld and add components to the units as necessary.

    Report to supervisor or Maintenance any mechanical problems with the welder

    Record production output on daily reports, including part/model number and quantities

    Operate grinder to remove excess burrs, welding wire, etc. as necessary

    Monitor the parts used and the parts required for production, and notify supervisor of material requirements and shortages

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
