Responsibilities
Oversees the Radiology research activities within the department. Uses effective leadership, judgment, and problem-solving skills in a teamwork environment. Maintains a high level of expertise in the use of all equipment in the area. Ensures the production of high-quality images that meet the standards established by the Mayo Radiology Department. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients. In addition to these duties, the Lead Radiologic Technologist provides leadership, builds commitment, educates and trains personnel in the work area and generates feedback. May be required to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Beyond these core responsibilities, the position contributes to research operations through the following activities:
+ Ability to review and support research studies involving imaging and procedural CT components.
+ Performs operational review tasks and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
+ Skilled in developing and maintaining research imaging protocols and updating equipment as needed.
+ Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and ability to serve as a resource for study-specific inquiries.
+ Effective communication of research-related updates to clinical and technologist teams.
+ Participation in research meetings and contribution to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, which includes F1 OPT/STEM. Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
Must have an associate’s degree in a related field. Must be a graduate of an accredited radiography, sonography, or nuclear medicine program.
Must be highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional with the ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication. Appropriate modality specific certificate (ARRT(CT) or equivalent) required, as well as annual documentation of modality specific certification and CPR/BLS certification.
Note: Incumbents hired into the role prior to February 15, 2018, are required to meet the previous requirements of graduating from an accredited radiography, sonography, or nuclear medicine program, as well as obtaining advanced modality specific certification within 18 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Four years modality specific experience.

$37.95 - $56.95 / hour ; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
