    Job Title: Electrical Assembly Apprentice 1st and 2nd

    Job Description

    Join our Electrical Assembly Apprentice Training Academy, where you will assist in the mechanical and electrical builds of customer products. You will learn to read and understand point-to-point wiring schematics and diagrams for various voltage levels (480v, 120v, 24v). The program includes in-depth training on crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing UL panels and subassemblies.

    Shift:

    6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday for the 1-2 weeks (TRAINING)

     

    1st shift following the training academy -

     

    6:30AM - 3PM, Monday - Friday - MUST be available to work on Saturdays if/when scheduled. If the candidate is not able to work on Saturdays - this will NOT be the position.

     

    2nd shift following the training academy -

     

    3:30 PM- 12:00 AM , Monday - Friday - MUST be available to work on Saturdays if/when scheduled. If the candidate is not able to work on Saturdays - this will NOT be the position.

    Responsibilities

    + Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and switchgear systems, focusing on 3-phase power distribution.

    + Pull, crimp, install, and test wiring using point-to-point methods.

    + Utilize tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, crimpers, and torque wrenches.

    + Perform part replacement on tools as needed and according to schedule.

    + Resolve routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels.

    + Work under direct supervision with frequent monitoring.

    + Maintain documentation and update panel layouts as needed.

    + Follow manufacturing protocols and lean production principles.

    + Follow detailed instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, and schematics.

    + Ensure the assigned area is clean and organized per 5S standards.

    + Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.

    + Coordinate with teammates to organize tasks requiring multiple team members.

    + Keep inventory personnel informed about spare parts inventory and locations.

    Essential Skills

    + Basic electrical wiring or assembly experience is preferred.

    + Strong initiative to learn through an in-depth training academy.

    + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    + Competency in basic math operations.

    + Ability to learn and interpret blueprints, graphs, and schematics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with hand and power tools.

    + Proficiency in using multimeters, crimpers, and other electrical tools.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is extremely clean and temperature-controlled, consisting of cell stations with large working areas. Teams of 5-7 technicians work collaboratively to assemble units per specification. The training lab environment involves a classroom setting with hands-on activities. Shifts are from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm during the training period, transitioning to 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday work as needed. Overtime does not exceed 58 hours per week.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
