EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time Program Director to lead our Meals on Wheels Program!
+ Salary: $66,300 to $70,000 per year
+ Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm
+ Location: Based at 99 Quentin Roosevelt Blvd in Garden City NY, and will work at sites including North Merrick Senior Center and Point Lookout Senior Center.
What drives the core purpose of this job:
The Program Director is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Meals on Wheels program. The role oversees daily operations, staff supervision, contract compliance and service quality to ensure timely, compliant, and client centered delivery of home delivered meals to eligible older adults.
What are the key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all daily operations of the Meals on Wheels Nassau program, including intake, eligibility determination, routing, meal delivery, quality assurance, vendor coordination, and client service continuity.
+ Hire, train, evaluate, and retain program staff in alignment with EAC Network policies.
+ Ensure adequate staffing coverage and operational readiness to meet contractual service levels and client needs.
+ Collect and compile program statistics and produce monthly reports.
+ Respond to operational issues, service disruptions, and client concerns with timely corrective action.
+ Oversee food ordering systems and vendor performance, including monitoring food quality, resolving issues with caterers, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
+ Ensure all staff complete the required Food Safety certifications and mandatory EAC Network trainings within established timelines.
+ Oversee record of client contributions and submit to finance.
+ Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety compliance of Meals on Wheels vehicles and related equipment.
+ Coordinate follow up with clients, caregivers, and case managers as required to address service issues, changes in eligibility, or client concerns.
+ Coordinate and conduct outreach activities to promote program awareness, referrals, and community engagement.
+ Customarily and regularly exercise discretionary powers.
+ Supervises: Drivers, Program/Volunteer Coordinators, Data Clerk and Program Assistant.
+ Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC Network Administration.
What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Gerontology or related field.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage hands on program operations while supervising staff in a high volume service environment.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, volunteers, vendors, and external partners.
+ Attention to detail and proficient in computer applications such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
+ Must have access to automobile and possess a NY State Driver’s license.
