Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Director of Financial Services Advisory for our newly formed Advisory Business Line. We are looking for an individual with a mix of strategic vision, industry expertise, leadership skills and business development acumen. In this role, the individual will support the Regional Advisory leadership in growing the business, setting strategy and developing major client accounts. This a hybrid role, with in-office requirements located in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this newly created role is to be a strategy leader and a business builder for our advisory services to the Financial Services industry nationally, with a primary focus on the East Coast of the United States and supporting role for Latin American investments. This team leader will need to have a big-picture growth mindset coupled with proven core consulting skills, and experience with the institutional investor and asset manager client landscape.
In partnership with Regional Business Line Leadership and the Global Business Line, the successful candidate will develop and execute the strategic growth plan for our Financial Services client base, including the development and execution of client outreach goals, and internal delivery enhancement goals.
+ Cultivate and maintain relationships with financial services clients that are active in infrastructure and climate financing, including: commercial banks, development banks, asset managers, institutional investors, private equity, insurers, regulatory stakeholders and policymakers.
+ Originate consulting engagements leveraging a strong command of market trends, financial instruments used in the capital stack for infrastructure delivery, insurance and actuarial products, and climate finance delivery mechanisms.
+ Drive excellence in client proposals and lead engagement teams in delivery, assuring that AECOM is building client relationships throughout the entire client engagement cycle,
+ Strategically co-create projects through client engagement and pre-position AECOM for winning and delivering the most important projects that come to market,
+ Work in collaboration with all AECOM business lines to align operations and allocate resources according to strategic priorities in a highly matrixed environment,
+ Ensure appropriate talent is in place to develop, lead and successfully execute on AECOM’s advisory growth strategy,
+ Champion change by supporting AECOM’s vision, creating buy-in to the vision and by linking the core business to the attainment of the vision.
+ Develop repeatable frameworks to respond to enterprise level client challenges in Finance Industry consulting, including banks, fintech companies, insurers, asset managers, and regulatory bodies.
+ Work collaboratively with Client Account Managers (CAMs), and Business Line Leadership to grow profitable backlog.
+ Prepare and deliver presentations and communications to share exemplary projects and programs.
+ Lead client engagement efforts to understand client needs, obtain feedback, and refine business objectives.
Qualifications
+ **Education** :
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
+ **Experience** :
+ Minimum **12 years of progressive experience** in management consulting, with a strong focus on the financial services sector (banking, infrastructure finance, insurance, asset management, or capital markets) **I** **ncluding 4+ years of leadership experience.**
+ Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation projects, strategic planning, and operational improvement initiatives for financial institutions.
+ Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial performance optimization.
+ Experience building teams from the ground up.
+ **Technical & Functional Expertise** :
+ Deep understanding of financial industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies (e.g., digital banking, fintech, AI in finance).
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making.
+ **Leadership & Communication** :
+ Exceptional ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage executive-level relationships.
+ Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
+ **Other Requirements** :
+ Ability to travel as needed for client engagements.
+ Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.

+ **Digital Transformation** : Expertise in leveraging technology to optimize financial processes, such as AI, blockchain, and fintech solutions.
+ **Strategic Planning** : Experience in developing and executing long-term strategies for financial growth and operational efficiency.
+ **Client Relationship Management** : Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and clients.
+ **Problem-Solving** : Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and develop innovative solutions.
+ **Project Management** : Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
+ **Change Management** : Expertise in guiding organizations through transitions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
+ **Team Leadership** : Ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
+ **Market Trends Analysis** : In-depth knowledge of financial markets, emerging trends, and economic indicators.
+ **Product Development** : Experience in designing and launching financial products, such as investment portfolios, insurance solutions, or lending services.
+ **Operational Excellence** : Familiarity with process improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
+ **Communication** : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts clearly.
+ **Negotiation** : Strong negotiation skills to drive favorable outcomes in contracts and partnerships.
+ **Adaptability** : Ability to thrive in dynamic environments and respond effectively to industry changes.
+ **Critical Thinking** : Capacity to evaluate scenarios strategically and make informed decisions.

The successful candidate will be a be a change agent, able to integrate into a new organization effectively, but not afraid to make suggestions and changes. They will be someone with extensive experience and proven leadership skills, capable of creating a clear vision and executing a strategic plan to grow our Finance Industry advisory practice. Building trusted relationships and consistently delivering results for C-suite executives will be essential for success in this role.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $230000 to $315000.
