Job Description

+ Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.

+ Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel and mold technicians as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality products being released to the customer.

+ Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.

+ Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager.

+ Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.

+ Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.

+ Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.

+ Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.

+ Accurately log all work performed.

+ Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.

+ Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

+ Performs PM’s, cleans and lubricates molding machines and equipment

+ Modifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipment

+ Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair

+ Visually inspects and solves problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions

+ Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operation

+ Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment

+ Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

+ Potential duties may also include: Fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairs

+ Performs installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipment

+ Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives.

+ Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming

+ Ability to read, interpret, and trouble shoot using schematic diagrams

+ Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

+ Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC

+ Safely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.

+ Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.
