Job Overview
Ebenezer is looking for a **Front of House Supervisor** to join our team and Pillars of Prospect Park in Minneapolis, MN! This position assists the Director of Nutrition by overseeing Nutrition Services dining team members, including scheduling, organizing, training, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices, and promoting a safe work environment.
This nutrition supervisor schedule includes;
+ 80 hours every two weeks
+ Full time; Day/Early evening shift: **10:30 AM - 7:00 PM**
+ Weekends as needed
Responsibilities:
+ Leads and directs team members:
+ Understands responsibilities of all positions in the department.
+ Trains, redirects and assists employees as needed.
+ Recommends changes in techniques for a more efficient operation.
+ Enforces proper work habits which includes but isn’t limited to: food handling, hand washing, sanitation, lifting techniques, body mechanics and safe use of chemicals.
+ Contributes to facilities positive employee relations environment by expressing appreciation of employees, by treating them with dignity and respect, and by answering questions or resolving complaints whenever possible.
+ Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
+ Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
+ Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
+ Creates dining room cleaning schedules and procedures and ensures their completion.
+ Helps in kitchen when necessary or in the absence of the director or Senior Chef/FSS supervisor.
+ Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
+ Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
+ Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
+ Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Director as appropriate.
+ Provides support and direction to Dietary Assistants:
+ Oversees proper procedures for dining room set-up for daily meals and special events.
+ Staff scheduling.
+ Addresses Dietary Assistant performance issues and communicates them to the Director as appropriate.
+ Oversees all dining rooms in partnership with Director.
+ Monitors and stocks service refrigerators.
+ Acts as Lead for Dining Staff:
+ Ensures that new employees are properly trained and oriented to their job responsibilities.
+ Provides feedback on annual performance review in a timely manner.
+ Promotes working relations and teamwork among employees.
+ Participates in Dietary Assistant interviews with the Director and provides feedback on candidates.
+ In conjunction with the Senior Chef or Food Service Supervisor (FSS), acts as point person in absence of Director/FSS.
+ Supports Director to ensure quality culinary outcomes:
+ Hosts monthly staff meeting with Director.
+ Participates in on-call rotation to cover Nutrition Services Department.
Required Qualifications:
+ One to three years of previous experience
+ Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate within 90 Days
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Three to five years of previous experience
+ Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications
