    Summary You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of NAS MERIDIAN SEC DET. Responsibilities You will plan construction and modification of facilities to address Physical Security and Anti-Terrorism concerns. You will analyze and identify security educational needs of the workforce and weaknesses in the security program to provide solutions. You will develop installation security and Anti-Terrorism plans, emergency actions plans, and crisis response plans for a comprehensive security program. You will direct the development of threats, risks, and vulnerability assessments and their integration into an overall Risk Management Plan for the command. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Implementing risk mitigation measures based on the assessment of threats and vulnerabilities; 2) Executing Antiterrorism (AT) program in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Coordinating with agencies to ensure understanding of antiterrorism security needs of the organization; 4) Developing discrepancy reports of physical security items for repair or replacement. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Although the work is primarily sedentary, there is frequently considerable walking standing, bending, and carrying of light objects required. Incumbent must be able to work under occasional periods of extreme pressure resulting from program office demands not entirely within the control of the installation. Antiterrorism operations are also required to be conducted outdoors during hours of darkness, during mild and extreme weather conditions and exposure to hostile persons. The position can be extremely stressful due to constant mental demands and deadlines. Incumbent should demonstrate administrative and research capabilities. Incumbent must be able to utilize regular office equipment and be able to travel via motor vehicles, train, and aircraft to various worldwide locations to accomplish his/her assignments. While performing surveys, inspections, and other related duties, incumbent is required- to work outdoors, climb ladders, and stoop. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The majority of the work will be in a climate controlled office setting. Occasionally requires work in outside areas in order to inspect facilities and security posts, employ specialized antiterrorism equipment and site visits at construction sites. Incumbent is required to work a 40-hour work week with occasional schedule changes to partake in meetings with USFF, CNIC, Region, or other OCONUS and stateside activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
