Position Summary Information
Position Summary
The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist is a professional who supports faculty and students through the effective use of instructional design strategies and educational technologies. This role works closely with faculty and the entire instructional design team to uphold departmental and University standards, while promoting effective use of the University’s learning management system (LMS) and related instructional technologies.

Major Responsibilities
Curriculum Design & Development
+ Apply instructional design best practices, models, and learning theories to support effective course development.
+ Collaborate with instructional designers to develop learning activities, assignments, and assessments aligned with defined learning objectives and outcomes.
+ Assist instructional designers in analyzing learner feedback and performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and recommend revisions in collaboration with subject matter experts.
LMS** **Administration & Support
+ Assist instructional technologists in the administration and support of Utica University’s learning management system.
+ Provide technical support to faculty and students in the effective use of instructional technologies integrated into courses.
Collaboration
+ Collaborate with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to gather information and provide constructive feedback.
+ Work closely with the instructional design and technology team to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
Assessment and Evaluation
+ Actively participates in the department’s/division’s ongoing assessment processes, as required by the unit’s supervisor or assessment coordinator.

Education & Experience Qualifications
+ Master’s degree required, preferably in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, or instructional technology.
+ Two years of experience supporting faculty and students in an academic setting is preferred.
+ Experience in developing courses in a learning management system is preferred.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
+ Must have a proven ability to work with teams, projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
+ Must know instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
+ Should have a working knowledge of copyright policies and intellectual property rights.
